Skins is one of the hidden gems on television at the moment. Broadcast on E4 it follows the exploits of a group of sixth fomers living in Bristol.
But there is a Nottingham connection since 19-year-old Joe Dempsie plays the character of Chris, famously portrayed in episode four of the series, as being abandoned by his mother and spending much of the programme in the nude.
Being starkers
"I think it's easier doing it on TV (than stage)," says Joe.
"But I've never been more nervous in all my life. I had a nudity clause in my contract. But if you can do that then you can do anything."

Getting started
Joe Dempsie is another product of Nottingham's Junior Television Workshop based in Stoney Street. He still goes twice a week in between getting auditions.
"While I was in school it was a hobby and I'd get one part a year. The shows I did, like Born and Bred, didn't have much street cred with my mates.
"I did my A levels and thought I had nothing to lose."
Despite having a place at Birmingham University to study history Joe decided to take a year out. He says Skins came along in the nick of time.

When not working he stays close to home. "In general I'm just around Nottingham, being lazy, irritating my family."
You Reds
Joe's a huge Nottingham Forest fan.
"I've been going for the past few years. I hope we get promoted. I'll be honest, if it goes to the play-offs I don't know if I'll be able to hack it.
"I went to the Sheffield United play-off game a few years ago and it was just the most gutting thing."
More Skins
Joe's probably going to have to defer his university place again because a second series of Skins has been commissioned.
"The show takes a dark turn towards the end of the series. There's a lot of unresolved issues that leads perfectly into series two. We'll start working on it in the summer."
